Job Description:

Diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases or other conditions of the skin.

What Dermatologist Do:

A medical doctor who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of more than 3,000 different diseases. These diseases include skin cancer, eczema, acne, psoriasis, and nail infections.

How to Become One:

After completing a four year bachelor's degree, students then take four years of graduate education leading to a degree in medicine (M.D.) or osteopathy (D.O.). After receiving a medical degree, students must complete a one year internship and three year residency in dermatology.
