Job Description:

Perform therapeutic massages of soft tissues and joints. May assist in the assessment of range of motion and muscle strength, or propose client therapy plans.

What Massage Therapist Do:

Massage therapists treat clients by using touch to manipulate the muscles and other soft tissues of the body. With their touch, therapists relieve pain, help heal injuries, improve circulation, relieve stress, increase relaxation, and aid in the general wellness of clients.

How to Become One:

You must first complete a training program at a massage therapy school that will qualify you to practice in the location you choose. Upon graduation, meet the requirements of the WV Board of Massage Therapy and obtain a license.
